A Note on Private Caterers
Many retreat leaders choose to work with a private or local caterer — and we fully support that. Please know that whether meals are prepared by your group or by an outside catering team, the kitchen must be returned to its full original condition by checkout, just as you would leave an Airbnb. This includes all cookware scrubbed, surfaces wiped, food removed, and the space restored with care. Our cleaning team arrives promptly after retreat checkout, and we are not able to delay their schedule. Please communicate these expectations clearly to any caterer working on your behalf, as the kitchen agreements below apply to all parties using the space.
Kitchen Agreements
We ask that all guests, retreat leaders, and any catering staff honor these shared agreements so the kitchen remains beautiful and fully stocked for every group that follows.
Clean Cookware Thoroughly: All pots, pans, and trays must be fully scrubbed and grease-free. Cleaning staff do not scrub cookware. Deep scrubbing, if required, is billed at $50/hr. For greasy foods, please use appropriate trays and line with foil or parchment.
Protect the Septic System: No oil or coffee grounds in the sink — ever. Please use the provided metal containers for disposal of cooking oils. Connie and cleaning staff will empty them.
Food Removal at Checkout: Remove all food at checkout. Leftovers may be fed to the chickens (if appropriate), composted, recycled, or taken home. If cleaners must remove food, a $50/hr fee applies.
Boxes & Packaging: All food boxes, delivery boxes, and packaging must be removed from the property by checkout. Any boxes left behind will incur an $8 disposal fee per box.
Garbage: Pickup is early Thursday morning. Please roll bins to the end of the driveway. Overflow may go in black bags beside the bins.
Damage: Mistakes happen. We simply ask that you let us know and cover the cost of replacement so the kitchen can remain fully stocked and beautiful for all future retreats.
